Sci-Fi Rendered Ship!

For our Final Task, I have to created a Sci-Fi Rendered Ship.

The theme I am going for is a more Queen Beatle Space Ship.

Here are the rough sketches:

Final Design of rough sketchs:

Starting to 3D Model my Queen Beatle Ship:

I went with the theme of a Queen Bug Ship because I thought it would be really cool to design something challenging.

I started using the cylinder primitive and just stretched it to the right and started making a  tear shape. I then extruded the face of that object and made 2 wings coming out of the back. I also extruded 2 faces on the side and rotated it and rescaled it to make it look like wings.
I kept the triangle in the middle because I wanted to give the spaceship a more bug feeling.

Continuing modelling the spaceship, I just kept extruding different faces outwards and shaping it into wings, I then went crazy and experimented with making the spaceship twice as better. After all that, I just added 2 cylinders at the bottom of the spaceship to give my spaceship boosters!

Last of all, I just added fangs to the queen mother ship so the spaceship has more added elements of an insect.

Coloured Finished Spaceship:

In conclusion, this whole project was interesting, creating the 3D model was really easy to do because when I modelled it I kept it very simple, but eye catching and it stuck to my theme and idea I was going for. In the end, it paid of when I was painting over it in Photoshop. It took me a while to figure out how add lighting in the scene and render the whole spaceship. I chose the colour of Purple because I wanted it to represent a mother ship and I thought that purple tones will suit the whole theme I was going for. I then added a name called 'Queen B' because I wanted to give this Queen Ship a special name since this ship is the Boss ship.

Overall, it was really engaging because the process in making this was different and I know no how to colour over a 3D rendered ship and it is another way of creating a good concept idea in a different visual form.
